About Me Page

Helen Whitcher is a composer and musician living in London. With a keen interest in collaborative and cross disciplinary works, she concentrates on collaborative projects with other artists. These include circus artists, dancers and photographers. Helen began her musical life as tuba player and continues to perform in groups playing a huge range of pieces, from classical and twentieth century repertoire to her own contemporary compositions. Helen studied composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and takes great interest in electronic music and designing acoustic works specifically for their performer.

Helen's passion for circus hula hoops began during her undergraduate studies. A project with several circus students lead to several musical collaborations and to Helen training to become a performer in her spare time. This keen interest and fascination soon turned into a huge part of her life, and she now performs her hula hoop routine at a range of venues and events.
