Bio

Helen Whitcher was born and raised in Hampshire, where she studied Tuba with Jock McKenzie and Clifford Bevan. As a brass player she has performed at various venues, including the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. She has also toured in Holland, Poland and Spain. In 2008, after 11 years with her local brass band and 8 years in the county bands, she moved to London to begin her undergraduate studies.

Helen is currently the tuba player for 'Five Brass Necks', a brass quintet formed at Trinity Laban in 2010. The five piece take part in performances and workshops, taking a key interest in contemporary music, rearranged popular tunes and old classics.
